Located within the historic centre of l'Olleria, the house responds to the dense urban fabric of narrow streets and closely built volumes, where the relationship with the exterior is shaped by privacy rather than openness. Instead of establishing a direct dialogue with the street, the project creates an inward-looking domestic landscape, where light, air and vegetation become the primary elements defining everyday life.
Drawing on the Mediterranean courtyard house tradition, the dwelling is organised around a sequence of open spaces that introduce natural light and cross-ventilation deep into the plot. These patios are not conceived as residual exterior spaces, but as the core of the domestic experience, structuring circulation, framing views and establishing different degrees of intimacy between the living areas.
The architecture is defined by a restrained spatial and material language. Carefully proportioned openings, continuous surfaces and a limited palette of materials reinforce the calm atmosphere of the house, allowing natural light and seasonal changes to become active components of the architecture. Rather than relying on formal expression, the project seeks to create a timeless environment where everyday life unfolds around a protected interior landscape.
