The project consists on the construction of a metal roof for a multipurpose outdoor space, supported by a continuous perimeter wall and organized through a modular grid of quadrants. From the perspective of tectonic and stereotomic principles, the design establishes a dialogue between mass and lightness, solidity and structure.
The perimeter wall acts as a stereotomic element: heavy, continuous, and grounded, defining the boundaries of the space, providing stability, and supporting the roof. Its presence generates a sense of containment and permanence, evoking the tradition of load-bearing architecture and consolidating the covered area beneath its shadow.
Resting on this solid base is the metal roof, conceived as a tectonic gesture. The modular structure, articulated through nodes, joints, and independent pieces, allows the roof to rise above the wall, lightening the composition and creating a visible framework that defines the enclosure. Its design facilitates the entry of natural light and airflow, generating a comfortable and flexible covered space suitable for sports, social, or cultural activities, while maintaining a strong visual and spatial connection with the exterior.
The contrast between the stereotomic wall and the tectonic roof creates a hybrid architecture: the solidity of the base offers shelter and structural continuity, while the roof provides openness, filters light, and regulates ventilation. The repetition and modulation of the metal structure establish rhythm, order, and visual clarity, while the honest expression of the construction reinforces its tectonic and poetic qualities.
By combining stereotomic and tectonic strategies, the project achieves a balance between weight and lightness, solidity and transparency, tradition and modernity. The intervention transforms the outdoor space into a coherent and versatile environment, integrating material and structure, light and air, permanence and flexibility, offering a functional, comfortable, and visually expressive multipurpose space connected to its context.
